Saturday 13th Aug 2022

Cost: £50.00

NUMBER 8 HIGH STREET PERSHORE, WR10 1BG

A day of jazz from the 1920s, 30s and 40s performed by the Keith Nichols Memorial Orchestra led by Michael McQuaid. The afternoon will see groups from the main orchestra presenting samples of small band jazz from the period. The evening concert will involve the whole, eighteen-piece orchestra bringing us the music of Paul Whiteman, Fletcher Henderson, and Benny Goodman with echoes of the Cotton Club in its heyday.

Keith Nichols, an internationally recognised authority, performer, and arranger of the ‘Golden Age’ of jazz, and a long-time friend of Pershore Jazz, sadly became a victim of Covid 19 during the pandemic. The final item on the programme, a tribute to his memory, is likely to be a poignant performance.

This event is organised by Pershore Jazz.
